Until last season, no driver from the Tarheel State of North Carolina had one the event until local hot-shoe David Payne of Murphy captured the $3,500 victory over Indiana’s Don O’Neal. No driver has ever been a repeat winner at this event. The regional stars will face off with the track’s hot-bed of weekly competitors including last year’s track champion Johnny Chastain along with Jamie Oliver and George Mashburn all from Murphy, NC; Danny Ledford from Warne, NC; David Payne of Murphy, NC; Shawn Chastain, Kenny Collins, Glenn Barnett, Randy Nichols and Gabe Wilson. Dillon Wood of New Smyrna Beach, FL will be looking to defend his Memorial Day Championship Super Late Model win as he took the $3,000 event win back on Memorial Day (May 27th) which was the last big-paying Super Late Model event held at Tri-County this season. Also expected are Lucas Oil Series star Don O’Neal of Martinsville, IN; Shane Clanton of Zebulon, GA; Clint Smith of Senoia, GA; Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, TN; Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA along with many other local and regional competitors.

In the Super Late Model event, added bonuses for the highest finishing Steel Block Late Models have been added. The highest finishing Steel Block driver will receive a $200.00 bonus while the second highest finishing LLM driver will receive a $100.00 bonus. A $100.00 entry fee for the Super Late Models will be charged that night. If a Super Late Model driver does not make the 20-car main event, he will receive $50.00. The Super Late Model tire rule is as follows: Hoosier 1300, 1350 and Right Rear option 1600. The American Racer 44, 48 and Right Rear 56 option will also be allowed. The Crate Late Models will also be allowed to use the FT200 (no grooving) along with the Hoosier 1350 & American Racer 48.

After all main events have been completed, the Modified Street, Street Stock & Pony drivers who have never won a feature event in the last three years (since Ray Cook took over as Promoter) at Tri-County Race Track will square off in their respective divisions for a 6-lap $100 to win plus Trophy Non-Winners race.
